Position Overview

The Patient Financial Coordinator is an entry-level, patient-facing role responsible for proactively contacting new patients prior to their appointments to explain financial expectations, insurance coverage basics, and available payment options.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial transparency, patient preparedness, and a positive overall experience before the patient even walks into the clinic.


What You’ll Do

  • Contact new patients daily to review pricing and financial expectations prior to appointments
  • Explain insurance basics (copays, deductibles, coinsurance) in a clear, simple way
  • Review self-pay and alternative pricing options
  • Help patients select the best financial option for their situation
  • Accurately document patient selections in internal systems
  • Respond to clinic and billing team inquiries in a timely, professional manner
  • Escalate complex insurance or billing questions when needed
  • Deliver a high-touch, professional patient experience on every interaction

What We’re Looking For (Entry-Level Friendly)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong communication skills (phone + written)
  • Customer service mindset with professionalism and empathy
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.)
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn healthcare insurance basics (we will train)
  • Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience in healthcare, call center, front desk, or billing
  • Experience with insurance verification, including eligibility, benefits, and coverage details
  • Exposure to insurance concepts or patient financial discussions
